BACHELOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (BECED)

VISION

The College of Teacher Education (CTED), as a Higher Education Institution of Learning envisions every learner to be functionally competent and equipped with desirable values of a professional teacher, in time.


MISSION

The Mission of the College of Teacher Education (CTED) of Bicol College is to provide the quality pre-teacher education basic to the needs, roles and functions of elementary and secondary teachers lay the foundation of desirable, responsive as well as responsible learners who will become globally competitive.

GOALS

This program aims to educate individuals to be competent early childhood practitioners working with children from 0-8 years old in various early childhood settings (home, community, school and workplace). It is aligned with the National Early Learning Framework (NELF), the National Competency Based Teacher Standards (NCBTS 2017) and the first key stage which is K to 3.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO)

  1. Pass the Licensure Examination for Teacher (LET)
  2. Be competent early childhood practitioners working with children from 0-8 years old in in various early childhood settings (home, community, school and workplace). It is aligned with the National Early Learning Framework (NELF), the National Competency Based Teacher Standards (NCBTS 2017) and the first key stage which is K to 3.
  3. Develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in the content and pedagogy for elementary and secondary education.
  4. Equip learners with adequate and relevant competencies to teach the subjects at the kindergarten level
  5. Pursue continuing education in the field of education
  6. Undertake academic research, and
  7. Have a clear view of the benefits learners will gain from the fruits of lifelong experiences.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The BECEd is a four-year program. Specifically, this program provides students with fundamental understanding and application of the principles of early childhood care and education, as well as experience in the application of these principles.
