BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ACCOUNTANCY (BSA)

VISION

To develop and produce world-class graduates in the field of business who are imbued with social responsibilities, knowledge, skills attitudes and values that would allow them to compete successfully in the global environment.


MISSION

To produce graduates who are imbued relevant, responsive, ethical, morally up right, competent and who are well-rounded managers in the business industry.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO)

  1. Develop a strong and well-rounded foundation in the Accountancy program.
  2. Provide a quality education in the Accountancy Program to enable the students to pass the licensure examination for CPA.
  3. Instil the students the strong need for competent and highly trained CPAs whose fields of expertise have become broad and more challenging.
  4. Produce graduates who will be globally competitive as well as socially responsible to the community guided by the Codes of Ethics for CPAs and a profound sense of morality.
  5. Engage in professional practice of accounting or apply accounting tools to another field of interest.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO)

  1. Apply acquired knowledge to be able to pass the licensure examination for CPA.
  2. Produce globally competitive graduates as well as socially responsible to their respective communities guided by the codes of ethics.
  3. An ability to use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for accounting practice.
  4. Recognize the need for and ability to engage in continuing professional development or education.
  5. Appraise ethical problems/issues in practical business and accounting situations and recommend appropriate courses of action that adhere to the professional codes of ethics.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Admission shall be restricted to students who can demonstrate a high probability of success in the study of accounting. Applicants shall take the BC CAT I Admission Test and undergo interview by the Dean of the Accountancy Department.
